No! Not that sort of fencing, we’re talking sword fighting! On Wednesday 25th November a fencing coach visited the school and gave all the children in Years 3 to 6 an hours fencing lesson. The children loved it. They worked in two groups, Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6 and each group received an hours worth of coaching. The learnt en garde, how to parry and riposte and how to lunge! It was great fun and the children enjoyed it immensely. It was such a success in fact, that we will be having an after school fencing club starting in the spring term after Christmas.
A big thanks to James Harris, our coach, and Dan Robinson from West Country Swords for organising the session.
