As a local authority school we are required to teach the National Curriculum but we look for ways to ensure that our teachers deliver the required information in a way that could be easier and more engaging for children to learn. There is mounting evidence from child development experts that children learn best when they have a personal interest in a subject and understand how something they are learning is relevant to other subjects. We also believe our asset as a beautiful, rural school makes utilising the outdoors as an extension to the classroom provides a wonderful benefit to children. Our approach for all children is to make learning fun and real.
Wow! What a day! Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe tour and workshop, lunch by the Thames, British Museum, pizza and then the most amazing, fantastically incredible time watching Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre. Busy but tremendous fun and the children, and adults have been incredible.
