Squirrel Class

Squirrel Class Weekly Timetable 2019 – 2020

Autumn Term 2019

We have all enjoyed getting to know each other more as we settle into our new daily routines!

Magnificent Me Curriculum Map

March 2019:

What a wonderful trip to Rockyfold Farm to see some lambs – we fed them milk using bottles, helped the farmer with some jobs, had a delicious snack in the farmhouse and were just in time to see two lambs being born! A very exciting day.

Here are our paintings of lambs, the farmer and the bottle of milk:

25th February 2019:

What a half term the Squirrels have coming up! We shall be investigating all sorts of transport; space travel – making rocket ships out of recycled materials, bikes – decorating our own, trains and even the lesser known mode of transport – the bed! Where will yours take you? All backed up with fantastic topical books… Spring Term 2 Squirrels 2019

Our WONDERFUL space backdrop! All the squirrels enjoyed making this!

January 2019:

It was a busy start for 2019 with Eco Week, bear hunts and celebrating the Chinese New Year – we even set up our own Chinese Restaurant! Spring Term 1 Squirrels 2019

December 2019:

Our new squirrels have well and truly settled into life at MEPS! They enjoy daily walks exploring the countryside, PE sessions on a Wednesday, Forest School in the wonderful Spinney on a Thursday – helped along with porridge made on the camp fire topped with stewed apple or dried apricots! They love spending time in the reading corner or at the make table.

Mrs Rebbeck seems as though she has always been part of the school and has a wealth of fantastic fun ideas – the children are learning so much more than they realise under her dutiful care!

Squirrel Class really enjoy the days when they team up with older children in the school, burst with pride when receiving the latest Gold Award, love the adventures they have in Elkie’s Woods and cover all sorts of interesting topics and books on a weekly basis.

They have already enjoyed a whole school outing, before Christmas, to the pantomime to see Peter Pan and now have a farm visit to see some spring lambs in the planning!
